Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about TGChnls and how the directory works.

TGChnls is a curated directory of public Telegram channels. It is a website that catalogs channels by category and topic, lets you preview them, and links directly to Telegram so you can join with a single tap. We are not affiliated with Telegram — we simply make discovery easier.

Open any channel page in our directory and tap the blue "Open in Telegram" button. The link will launch the Telegram app on your device. If Telegram is not installed, it will open in Telegram Web in your browser. From there, just tap Join inside Telegram itself.

Every channel in our directory is manually reviewed before publication. We check for active content, accurate descriptions, and the absence of spam, scams, or harmful material. That said, we do not control what channels post in the future. Use the same caution you would on any social platform: do not share personal data, do not send money to strangers, and report anything suspicious.

Public channels have a Telegram username (like @example) and anyone can join them directly through a t.me link. Private channels do not have public usernames and are joined through invite links. On TGChnls, public channels show a "Preview Channel on Web" button so you can view recent posts before joining; private channels do not, because Telegram does not allow web previews for them.

We are building a public submission form, but it is not live yet. In the meantime, if you own a Telegram channel and would like it added, please wait for the submission form launch — we will announce it on our home page. We review every submission against our quality standards before adding it.

Telegram's built-in search only matches exact usernames or names you already know. It does not let you browse channels by topic, see descriptions, compare similar channels, or preview content before joining. TGChnls gives you a real catalog — categorized, searchable, and indexed by Google — so you can actually discover channels rather than just look them up.

Yes. The site is built mobile-first and works smoothly on phones, tablets, desktops, and any modern browser. Channel links will open in your Telegram app if installed, or in Telegram Web otherwise, so the join flow is one tap regardless of device.

Each channel gets a dedicated page with a clean URL, structured metadata (Open Graph, Twitter Card, JSON-LD), and a canonical link. We submit our sitemap to Google, Bing, and Yandex, and use IndexNow to notify search engines instantly when channels are added or updated. This is exactly the kind of SEO presence Telegram itself does not provide.

Yes, completely free. No account, no signup, no paywall, no premium tier. We run TGChnls as a service to the Telegram community. If we ever monetize, it would be through unobtrusive options like sponsored highlights, clearly labeled — and the core directory will always stay free.

If you find a channel in our directory that violates our standards — spam, scams, illegal content, harassment, or anything similar — please contact us. A dedicated report button will appear on each channel page in an upcoming update. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours and confirmed violations result in immediate removal.
