Preview
Open a channel page to read its full description, view its tags, and see related channels. For public channels you can tap "Preview Channel on Web" to view recent posts in Telegram's web preview without joining.

Join
Tap "Open in Telegram" and the channel opens directly in your Telegram app, ready to join. The link works on iOS, Android, desktop, and Telegram Web — whichever you happen to be using right now.
Why This Flow
We deliberately kept the path from discovery to joining as short as possible. Most users do not want to create another account, install another extension, or copy and paste invite links between apps. Three taps — browse, preview, join — and you are in the channel. Behind the scenes, every link is tracked anonymously so we can measure which channels are useful to people and which are not, but no personal data is collected.
The preview step exists because joining a Telegram channel commits your account, your notification list, and your contact graph to that channel's owner. Before that happens, you deserve a way to look inside. Telegram already supports a web preview for public channels at t.me/s/username, and our preview button takes you straight there. It is the safest way to evaluate a channel without exposing yourself.
The "Open in Telegram" button uses the standard tg:// protocol and t.me fallback, which means it works on every device that has Telegram installed. If Telegram is not installed, the link opens in Telegram Web in your browser, which means you can join right away without downloading anything. This makes the directory equally useful on a phone, a tablet, or a desktop browser.
